Do I need to wear eye protection?

I do recommend wearing the protective goggles that I will provide for you that have been cleaned and sanitized.  I also advise against looking directly into the LED lights as they are very bright. It's not mandatory.

Some users might opt to not use goggles; numerous studies highlight RLT's potential eye health benefits. Direct exposure, especially for those sensitive to light, isn't recommended. If in doubt, consulting with a medical professional is wise.

Is red light therapy safe?

Red light therapy is generally considered to be very safe and there are no known side effects. However there are some considerations where you should avoid using red light or at least discuss it with your physician.
If you are sensitive to light, we recommend speaking to your doctor prior to using Rouge. If you are pregnant, have cancerous or potentially cancerous lesions, or if you are taking medication such as Tetracycline, Digoxin, Retin A, or any other photosensitizing drug, you should speak to your healthcare provider before using Rouge. You should not use Rouge on infants.

Is it hot, or will I get a tan?

Red Light can produce a gentil warmth.  Red light is not UV light and will not give you a tan.

Both red and near-infrared light therapy work through a process called photobiomodulation.(https://rougecare.ca/blogs/rouge-red-light-therapy-blog/photobiomodulation-a-primer-to-the-biology-and-chemistry-of-red-light-therapy) That’s just a fancy word for the way light affects cells, specifically how it boosts their function.  The panel I use has both technologies, red light is beneficial for more surface level issues, while NIR is for deeper muscle issues.  To read more see  link below.
